21 September 2026No summer slowdown here, August saw some strong highlights for OBI.
Corporate deal of the month:
It doesn’t get much bigger than The Walt Disney Company, so great to see Gary Neville Lucy Bellamore and The Overlap strike a hugely impressive deal that will see Disney+ be headline sponsor of Stick to Football, a Stick to United podcast, and other exclusives. Always moving the game on!
Property deal of the month:
A pleasure for OBI to advise on Salboy’s sale of the Turnstile Building, a piece of sporting history from Manchester Racecourse, which survived through decades amid a student village, and will now house offices for Crescent Purchasing Consortium.
Business of the month:
AO have been so successful for so long, some take them for granted. If you haven’t already, do take the time to read chief executive John Roberts’ entertaining interview with TheBusinessDesk.com’s Michael Taylor, you’ll learn more in that few minutes than hours reading most business books.
Eyecatcher of the month:
The OBI team has been in full effect for the refurbishment of 82 King Street, delivered for Priory Manchester, with OBI as project manager, contract administrator, workplace consultants and agents. Stunning job. Couldn’t be more proud of the team.
One for the future:
79 Mosley Street is about to enter that chat. JOE & THE JUICE is now open and added a lot to St Peter’s Sq. M20 Property’s redevelopment of the listed corner block is due for completion in Q4 of this year, as the final piece of the jigsaw for St Peter’s Square.
One to watch:
Everyone knows about the reinvention of Altrincham market, but Foundation, Bruntwood and Trafford Council’s redevelopment of Rackhams has been a big success in office and leisure, so much that it’s now being expanded with a further 14,200 sq ft. Do it well, and regional offices can be a winner.
