JD Fashion completes on sale of Walton Summit Centre unit

22 October 2025

Multi-disciplinary property consultancy, OBI, has announced the sale of a 28,544 sq ft industrial unit on behalf of fashion giants, JD. The semi-detached unit is prominently situated at the Preston-based Walton Summit Centre, one of central Lancashire’s premier business parks.

Located on 171 Brierley Road, the unit has been sold to Woodside Logistics Group, for owner occupation. The business specialises in providing full load, dry freight transport services to manufacturers, retailers and industry across the UK and Ireland.

Walton Summit Centre is prominently located less than a mile from the M6, M61, and M65, making it an ideal location for Woodside Logistics.

Jacob Jolly at OBI, said: We are pleased to have completed this sale on behalf of the team at JD. Our expert team is well-versed in the industrial market, having supported multiple businesses on the sales and purchases of new units over the past 15 years. We are sure that Woodside Logistics will benefit from the space and its impressive motorway links.”

Nigel Keen at JD Fashion PLC, said: “This transaction was a remarkably smooth process for us from initial instruction through to completion thanks to the expertise of OBI’s transactions team. This facility had become surplus to the Group’s requirements and so disposing of the interest quickly was beneficial allowing us to focus our attention upon our core estate”.

Mark Woodside at Woodside Logistics Group, said: “We are delighted to have purchased the facility in Brierley Road, Walton Summit, which will enable the future growth of our business. The communication from the team at OBI was excellent throughout, leading to a stress-free process from start to finish and the purchase completed on schedule”.
