Research Analyst

Job Role 

OBI are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join a newly created role that will work predominately within the Workplace Consultancy team. You will be an individual who is passionate about developing a career within the built environment and is excited about data and the stories held within. 

At OBI the Research Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the setup, management and conducting of qualitative and quantitative research projects, enabling our teams to provide best-in-class insight to clients and peers within the industry. The individual will need a creative flair to come up with innovative insights and communicate these findings in a commercially focused manner to a variety of stakeholders. 

The role will focus upon undertaking surveys, questionnaires and interviews with OBI clients to formulate data which will be utilised to formulate client briefs / space requirements for their office premises.  The candidate will need an interest in workplace consultancy and build a knowledge base to explain the various working practices to clients.  Communicating the findings and providing data driven conclusions will be an important part of the role. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

General Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop a good understanding of different qualitative and quantitative research methods. 
  • Demonstrate pro-activity in learning new research techniques. 
  • Support the setup, management and moderation of research projects both internal and external. 
  • Support the design of surveys and guides for focus groups and field research. 
  • Extraction of data from surveys and research projects, analysing the data and communicating findings to stakeholders. 
  • Conducting surveys and interviews. 

 

Workplace Consultancy 

  • Predominantly working with the Workplace Consultancy team to develop and implement research techniques, surveys and interviews. 
  • Analysing statistical data to highlight key trends and provide clients with best-in-class advise on their workplace practices and requirements. 
  • Providing data-driven conclusions that help formulate the clients space requirements and client brief. 

 

Studio 

  • OBI’s inhouse Studio team develop brands, telling the story of buildings and their occupiers. As part of the research team, you will support the Studio team in developing consumer insights specific to the individual project. 

 

Transactions & Asset Management 

  • As part of OBI’s Office Consultancy and Advisory services, we provide the industry with a variety of thought leadership, understanding industry trends and the collection of key data is paramount to reputable thought leadership. The research team support in the collection and analysis of this data. 

 

Role requirements: 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree  

 

Key Skills:  

  • Advanced skills in Excel including data visualisation and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, flexibly and show initiative. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written as well as verbally) with an ability to build working relationships internally and externally. 
  • Deadline & quality driven with high personal standards.

The Role

The newly created role will involve working as part of an experienced team of five within the Building Consultancy team. We require an energetic and hardworking individual who wants to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial office.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Planning and overseeing building work on a range of commercial projects up to £10 million;
• Project management of multidisciplinary teams;
• Working knowledge of the JCT suite of contracts and experience in administering;
